Aarhus Workbench licensing, packages and modules

The Aarhus Workbench is a modular program which makes it easy to fit a program package to your specific needs. The customer is only charged for the functionalities needed. Typical license prices for fixed cost modules are in the range from 2500 Euro to 10 000 Euro. Recommended packages for different jobs are listed below.

License keys

The Aarhus Workbench is shipped as a single user license. Multi user license can be obtained with a discount of 10% for the second licensing and then another 5% for each extra license up to five.

Support and update

A license includes all software updates and E-mail support for 12 months from purchase. For the Aarhus Workbench support is at 20% of the purchase price per year after the first year.

Discount/ trial license

  • Student license. Aarhus Geophysics wants to support research communities and therefore we give heavily discounted student licenses for the Aarhus Workbench as well as for SiTEM/Semdi. The cost will depend on the modules required. Please fill out this form to apply for a student license.
  • Free trial license. Anyone can download the Aarhus Workbench and try it out with limited functionality.

Pre-designed Aarhus Workbench packages

The following is a list of module-combinations of Aarhus Workbench designed to meet requirements with many common geophysical projects. The module numbers referred to the module list on the bottom of this page.

Packages for inversion and visualization of airborne frequency domain data (HEM)

  • Package 1: HEM basic inversion. Module # 1 and 20.
    This package is intended for inversion and only basic visualization of inversion results. The package includes advanced inversion with 1D-LCI (1D laterally constrained inversion) inversion as well as full-featured visualization and post-processing of results.
  • Package 2: HEM professional inversion and basic presentation. Module # 1, 3, 5, 8, 20.
    Presentation features are included: advanced section plotting, generation of theme maps such as mean resistivity and depth to good conductor and finally simple gridding facilities using inverse distance.

Packages for processing and inversion of geoelectrical resistivity data (DC)
Two packages for processing, inversion and visualization of DC data are offered. These contain the following modules:

  • Package 1: DC basic inversion. Module # 1 and 13.
    This package is intended for processing and inversion and only very basic visualization. The package includes an advanced processing module combined with 1D-LCI (1D laterally constrained inversion) inversion as well as full-featured 2D inversion using build-in interface for RES2DINV.
  • Package 2: DC professional inversion and basic presentation. Module # 1, 3, 5, 8, 14.
    This package adds the 2D-LCI inversion facility to the basic package. Also, basic presentation features are included: advanced section plotting, generation of theme maps such as mean resistivity and depth to good conductor and finally simple gridding facilities using inverse distance. Package 2 can be further updated to professional presentation by changing to the professional versions of module 5 and 8.

Packages for processing and inversion of SkyTEM data
Three packages for processing, inversion and visualization of SkyTEM data is offered. These contain the following modules:

  • Package 1: SkyTEM for Quality Control. Module # 1 and 32.
    This package is designed for QC of SkyTEM data. It enables full access to the processing system, but export and inversion is not supported. This package is offered either at a kilometer price or at a fixed priced depending on your needs.
  • Package 2: SkyTEM processing and inversion. Module # 1 and 17.
    This package is intended for processing and inversion and only very basic visualization. The package includes an advanced processing module combined with 1D-LCI (1D laterally constrained inversion) inversion. The Package is offered at a line kilometre price. Please inquire.
  • Package 3: SkyTEM processing and inversion with basic presentation. Module # 1, 3, 5, 8.
    Basic presentation features are included on top of the basic package: advanced section plotting, generation of theme maps such as mean resistivity and depth to good conductor and finally simple gridding facilities using inverse distance. The package can be further updated to professional presentation by changing to the professional versions of module 5 and 8.

Packages for processing and inversion of ground based TEM data
A package for processing, inversion and visualization of ground based TEM is offered. This package uses the SiTEM/Semdi programs for processing and inversion and the Aarhus Workbench for visualization and management of the results.

  • SiTEM/Semdi programs: Processing and inversion of ground based TEM data.
    Advanced processing and inversion of ground based TEM data. Joint inversion of resistivity and TEM data is also supported. The programs are offered at a price of 3000 Euro.
  • Workbench Package: Visualization and management of ground based TEM data. Module # 1, 3, 5, 8. Includes basic presentation features: advanced section plotting, generation of theme maps such as mean resistivity and depth to good conductor and finally simple gridding facilities using inverse distance.The Workbench package can be further updated to professional presentation by changing to the professional versions of module 5 and 8.

Search in 1D models based on model statistics - lithology identification and separation. The module is intended to be used in the process of geophysical clay thickness estimation

8 Surface Modelling, basic
Basic interpolation of data using inverse distance to a power

9 Surface Modelling, professional
Includes module 8 and adds: Geostatistical interpolation of point data using variogram estimation and kriging. Both internal geophysical data and external XYZ data can be modelled, saved to the workspace and shown on the GIS map

Inversion of Airborne TEM data with the 1D-Laterally Constrained Inversion. The 1DLCI allows for both smooth models and few-layered models. Both vertical and horizontal receiver dipoles supported. Data are imported using a general coloumn-format import. All systems are supported.
